JRun Privacy Policy

1. Data JRun Stores

To provide run recording features, JRun may store the following information on your device:

• Profile data, such as nickname, gender, birth month and year, height, and weight
• Run records, such as time, distance, pace, route points, splits, steps, cadence, stride, elevation gain, notes, and weather snapshots
• Weather snapshots captured for runs
• Shoe data, such as shoe name, mileage, and default shoe setting
• Local app settings
• A local active-run checkpoint used to recover the last valid run data after an app crash, system termination, or phone power loss

This data is used to show dashboard statistics, history, run details, shoe mileage, profile settings, and interrupted-run recovery prompts inside the app.

2. Location Permission

JRun uses location permission to:

• Show your current location
• Record running routes
• Calculate distance and pace
• Request current weather for your location

During an active run, background location is used to continue recording route, distance, and pace while the screen is locked or the app is in the background.

3. Motion & Fitness Permission

JRun uses Motion & Fitness data to record steps during a run and calculate average cadence and stride.

If you deny this permission, GPS route, distance, and pace recording can still continue, but step-related data may be empty.

4. Weather Services

JRun uses Open-Meteo to get current weather. If Open-Meteo is unavailable, JRun tries MET Norway as a fallback weather source.

To return local weather, the app sends current coordinates to the weather service that is actually requested.

If the weather request fails, run recording can still continue.

Open-Meteo's and MET Norway's own terms and privacy documentation also apply to their processing of weather requests.

5. Export, Import, and Sharing

JRun supports GPX, CSV, and .jrunbackup file export.

When you actively export a file or send it through the iOS share sheet, that exported data leaves JRun and is handled by the destination you choose. Review recipients and storage locations before sharing route or personal running data.

JRun backup import reads a user-selected local .jrunbackup file and merges supported records into local storage. JRun 1.2 does not upload backup files to a JRun server.

6. Feedback Email

JRun can open the system Mail composer for feedback. The message is sent only through the email account configured on your device after you choose to send it.

The prefilled template includes app version, build number, iOS version, device model, and permission checklist items to help investigate the issue.

7. What JRun Does Not Do

JRun 1.2 does not:

• Sell personal data
• Track users for advertising
• Provide social feeds or public run posts
• Create a JRun cloud account
• Sync local run history to a JRun server
• Automatically upload backup files

8. Data Deletion

You can choose Clear Local Data under Me > Permissions & Data. This deletes local run records, shoes, profile data, settings, and the active-run checkpoint, then returns the app to onboarding.

Deleting the app may also delete local app data from the device.

9. Policy Updates

If JRun later adds accounts, cloud backup, analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, Apple Health, Apple Watch, or new third-party services, this policy will be updated to match the actual app behavior.
